Job Description:
The responsibilities of this position are painting, carpentry, and building equipment repairs of all interior and exterior features of the college facilities. Additional functions of the position is to assist with roof maintenance program, assist with snow removal, assist with Buildings and Grounds major renovations, assist with special events equipment setup, and assist with furniture setups and equipment moves. The position is also responsible for all interior and exterior carpentry projects and must assist with various other duties such as plumbing repairs, lock and hardware repairs, and plant operations. The position reports to the Chief Plant Operator. Coordinate and implement all internal and external carpentry projects, including material inventory. Assist with all Buildings and Grounds renovations. Perform plumbing repairs. Perform lighting repair-replacement. Maintain door locks and related hardware. Assist with snow removal. Assist with painting. Assist with event setups. Perform minor repairs and works as needed at all College Campuses. Painting of all interior and exterior college facilities. Assist with the roof maintenance program. Assist with major building and facility renovation projects. Drywall installation and/or repair and finishing. Order and maintain inventory of painting supplies. Maintain records of painting projects. Electronic work order entry and completion. Assist with campus grounds care, custodial duties, and other maintenance work as required. Oversee and facilitate furniture and equipment moves. Perform additional duties as assigned by department manager.
Experience Required:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of two years employment experience in painting/general carpentry required; experience with supervision preferred. Experience should include all main aspects of building repair and maintenance including applied carpentry, electrical, and plumbing skills. Experience including construction, remodeling, re configuring, and upgrading of facility amenities as they relate to electrical, plumbing, and construction is also required. Locksmith skills including pinning, coring, key cutting, lock re-keying of commercial locking systems preferred. Ability to assist in grounds care, snow removal, custodial duties, and equipment setup and furniture moves. Ability to lift 80 pounds required. Excellent customer service skills required.
